Database failure / No Reference Results / Cannot Save Results

Unfortunately your MDAC (database access) installation has been damaged. Sadly it is very sensible and prone to such mishaps as it is not protected by Windows' protection system.
  • Please use MDAC component checker to check that your MDAC install is OK:

  • If this has not fixed it, try registering the Jet/Access libs manually by typing in a console/command prompt:

    regsvr32 msjetoledb40.dll

    OK, how to repair a copy of MDAC 2.8 on WinXP with SP2 installed:

    first, locate the mdac.inf file in c:windowsinf right click and install when prompted for a location, point to c:windowsservicepackfilesi386 then when promtpet for the XPcd, either load the cd or point to c:i386

    hey presto, this reinstalls / repairs MDAC 2.8

  • If all fails only a Windows reinstall may fix it.
